Tucked away on a quiet road just beyond a nondescript Orange County shopping center is an abandoned (or so we think) estate, complete with waterwheel, waterfall, footbridges, stone walls and meandering pathways. At the perimeter of the property is the now-sadly-dilapidated home itself. With its parquet floors, vaulted ceilings, and elaborate moldings and millwork, one can only imagine the lives of grandeur lived here. Not convinced? Take a peek at the jumbo safe sequestered in the basement. It’s a mini Fort Knox. And for owners not interested in cardio – or staff not interested in hefting plates and laundry – there was a working elevator. From the gaping holes in the floors, to the plundered copper piping, to the overgrown trees and shrubs, this once luxury home still retains much of its original charm and is ready to be reimagined by an enterprising new owner.
